Official calls for individual and collective commitment to Government service delivery

The Secretary for Special Programmes Mr Philip Tarus has challenged Government officers to embrace both a  personal and collective responsibility towards the achievement of strategic targets in performance contracting.

Mr Tarus said performance contracting was a critical function towards achieving impactful and measurable work output and service delivery and urged officers to diligently deliver on their work targets.

"To be crowned the top performer, we must work collectively and individually via a robust team spirit and coordination within the stipulated time frame for effective and efficient service delivery to Kenyans", he said.

Speaking during the State Department for Special Programmes  Principal Secretary's 2025-2026 mid-year performance contract evaluation exercise at the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO) in Murang'a County, Mr. Tarus called on Heads of Sections and Units to  expedite accomplishment of any pending targets before the closure of the financial year.

"So far, this is good work. We've have delivered on our targets. We shall also continue to deliver timely disaster relief interventions to our targeted over 2 million people across the country," he said.

He urged officers to document every effort towards achieving the State  Department's functions, objectives and duty to all Kenyans to ensure a 100 per cent target attainment.

Mr. Taurus asked officers to document every effort in service delivery in order to demonstrate tangible and evidence based performance that will earn them top scores .

The Secretary was representing Special Programmes Principal Secretary Mr Ismail Madey during the five-day exercise attended by Heads of sections and units in the department.
